important info:

  • Children permitted only when accompanied  by    their legal guardian
  • Shipwrecked is a glass free event
  • Absolutely NO    pets
  • No open fires  and please take extreme care with open flames, the risk of fire is extremely high at this time of year and the site is surrounded by forest
  • We aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible, so please read our sustainability section  to find out how you can help us  look after this unique site and surrounding area
  • Please take care of yourself and those around you! If someone looks like they need help ask them or notify a crew member
  •  We have the right to refuse the service of alcohol to intoxicated patrons  and remove them from the festival
  • The sale of alcohol is restricted to patrons 18 years and over, alcohol will not be served to minors
  • Lets create a safe, warm and  fun environment  for all festival goers. Disturbers of the peace will be made to walk the plank
  • Security and First Aid are available 24 hours, don't hesitate to ask for help
  • ​Cell phone reception   is limited  so make sure you let your family and friends know where you are going before the weekend
  • Swimming is permitted in the lake within the festival site but please swim    in the designated areas  and during daylight hours only
  • Please note: Lake Tomarata , Te Arai beach and surrounding forest areas have a year-round liquor ban

Sustainability:

  • We have a strong focus on being environmentally friendly and therefore would sincerely appreciate if all guests could leave only their foot prints and memories and take their rubbish home with them wherever possible, rubbish bags will be distributed around the campground
  • Rubbish & recycling bins are everywhere around the site so please take advantage of their convenience
  • You'll also find ashtrays, please use them and perhaps think about bringing a personal portable ashtray
  • Try to use re-usable cutlery, crockery & cups - get some funky ones from the Salvation army or another Op Shop and support two good causes
  • Shipwrecked is a strictly glass free event so please avoid bringing glass bottles and containers
  • Ride share is an excellent way to reduce the number of cars on the road, so get in touch with other Shipwrecked guests via our ride share page
  • The wetlands of Te Arai and surrounding areas are home to some of New Zealand's rarest birds; The Australasian bittern (matuku) and the New Zealand fairy tern (tara-iti). Camping:

Camping is onsite & free. Gates open for  the campground  Saturday 3rd February at  10:00 am and close  4:00 pm on Monday 5th. This means you must be packed up and off site by 4:00 pm on Monday at the latest. Food, free drinking water and toilets  are available at the campground  as well as flushing toilets & hot showers  within  the festival site.

Volunteers:

 We need dedicated, loving and hardworking volunteers to help us leading up to, during and after the event. We will be offering a free ticket to those involved (t&c's apply). Please register your interest by completing the form on the Get Involved page and we will be in touch with you shortly after.
