Here is your guide to having the best fun time in the world. Please read the information below carefully for everything important you need to know about your voyage. . .​

When where & getting there

  • The gates open for public camping at 10AM Friday 7th February 2020
     

  • Gates will be open 10AM until 10PM daily. You will not be able to enter the event outside these hours 
     

  • Please do not arrive before this time, you will not be permitted to enter early or camp outside the festival site, nor at Lake Tomarata (it is not a public campsite)
     

  • 6PM Friday evening is the grand opening. This is when the festivities will officially kick off
     

  • Music stops 6PM on Sunday 9th February
     

  • Public camping closes at 8PM on Sunday. This means you must be packed up and on your way home before 8PM Sunday 9th of February
     

  • ​The address is 186 Atkins Road, Te Arai
     

  • It is located approximately 90 minutes north of Auckland CBD
     

  • If you're driving, we suggest you load your map up before leaving home as there is limited cellphone reception for map applications, or use an offline map app such as MapsMe​​ or go old school and print one
     

  • Don't forget you'll need a vehicle pass if you're bringing your car

General Info

  • There are flushing toilets & hot showers within the festival ground as well as cold showers at the public campground
     

  • A selection of food trucks to suit all your dietary desires will be offering food and refreshments over the duration of the event, fell free to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverage, NO GLASS
     

  • 5 unique boutique bars
     

  • Free filtered drinking water
     

  • AWOP cashless payment system; a small top up fee will be charged with your first top up only. Cash & card accepted
     

  • Pass-outs are permitted between 10AM and 10PM. You'll receive a token on your way out, to re-enter you must present your token and festival wristband
     

  • Shipwrecked reserves the right to publish any photos or videos of an individual across any form of media. By entering the festival you agree to these terms.

C A M P I N G

  • Camping is onsite & free
     

  • Vehicles including cars, caravans and campers must purchase a vehicle pass.
     

  • Gates open for the campground Friday 7th February at 10AM and close 8PM on Sunday 9th. This means you must be packed up and off site before 8PM on Sunday.
     

  • There is free drinking water, toilets, cold showers and a dish washing station in the campground for your convenience.
     

  • Rubbish, recycling and compost facilities provided, although we encourage you to  take home everything you brought into the festival to support our leave no trace policy
     

  • There are no dumping station facilities for campers or caravans onsite.
     

  • Absolute NO FIRE and No open flame cooking.
     

  • Fire extinguish station will be located under a red flag, please only use on emergency.

Staying SAFE

  • Please take care of yourself and those around you! If someone looks like they need help ask them or notify a crew member
     

  • Lets create a safe, warm and fun environment for all festival goers. Disturbers of the peace will be made to walk the plank
     

  • Security and First Aid are available 24 hours, don't hesitate to ask for help
     

  • Cell phone reception is limited so make sure you let your family and friends know where you are going before the weekend
     

  • This event is strictly glass-free, we want to make sure you are safe in bare feet
     

  • Please take the utmost care with fire, as there is extreme risk of bush fire at this time of year. NO open fires and be mindful when using gas cookers, candles, lighters and matches and where you dispose of your cigarette butts
     

  • The promoter or venue shall not be held liable for any injury, loss or damages sustained while entering or on site

S W I M I N G

Caring for the environment

  • Absolutely NO dogs

  • Tins for cigarette butts are conveniently located around the site so please use them. NEVER throw cigarette butts on the ground. Please consider bringing a personal portable ashtray
     

  • Shipwrecked is a strictly glass free event so please avoid bringing glass bottles and containers
     

  • Rubbish, compost & recycling bins are everywhere around the site so please take advantage of their convenience. They will also be marked on the map
     

  • To help minimize the waste created by this event please try to take home everything you brought with you
     

  • Try to bring waste friendly snacks. . leave the plastic packets at home and bring reusable or recyclable containers, beeswax wraps, unpacked fruit and vege
     

  • How about using re-usable cutlery and crockery instead of disposable - get some funky ones from the Salvation army or another op shop, and support two good causes
     

  • Bring a reusable drink bottle. Fill up for free and save all the plastic bottles. There are filtered water stations around the festival site, campground and free water available at bars
     

  • Bring your keep cup for coffee, tea and smoothies: help us cut back on single use cups and lids and use your own cool cup
     

  • Remember to take your reusable bags with you when you do your festival shopping!
     

  • Ride share is an excellent way to reduce the number of cars on the road, so get in touch with other Shipwrecked guests via our ride share page, it also means you can share the cost of the vehicle pass 
     

  • Even better, ditch the car altogether and take the bus. Tickets available as an add-on to your festival ticket.

B A R  &  B O O Z e

  • Shipwrecked Music & Arts Festival is a fully licenced event
     

  • There are five unique bars serving a variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to suit your every whim 
     

  • All drinks will be served in re-usable stainless steel cup.  A one off $5.00 fee will charged with your first drink as a deposit, as long as you bring your cup back for each new drink you will not have to pay the cup fee again, so please hold on to your cup
     

  • BYO alcohol is not permitted. Searches will be carried out on arrival, so save loosing it and leave it at home
     

  • Alcohol will not be served to minors or intoxicated patrons
     

  • We have the right to request ID if you look under 25
     

  • Alcohol is offered as a compliment to the many activities we offer. Please drink responsibly 
     

  • Free Drinking Water will be available from various locations, please bring your own reusable drink vessel.
